There was a massive tundra fire in 2007 along the Anaktuvuk River that burned 1000 km<sup>2<\/sup>. My fellow Toolik postdoc Adrian Rocha has also been doing some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esajournals.org\/doi\/pdf\/10.1890\/10-0255.1\">cool work<\/a> on carbon balance post fire.
