This document explains the role of directors, officers, and members in the Artifex.org organization, and lists the current directors and officers.

Artifex.org is administered by a self-perpetuating board. Currently three people are on the board of directors. The current board members are:

Hunter Blanks
Ben Eloy
Jack Lange

Following the next member trustee election, they will be joined by an Artifex.org member who will serve as a voting member on the board for one year, at which point there will be an election for the next year. The board is trying to have regular, quarterly meetings. A tentative calendar is available at the Library document, Homepage for Artifex.org the Organization .

As per the by-laws, officers are elected by the board of directors. The only offices assigned right now are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. They current officers are:

Artifex.org has one class of members, and this class is free and open to the public. Membership in Artifex.org is not the same thing as having an account on the Artifex server. If you are an Artifex user, you may but need not become a member of Artifex.org.

Artifex.org members have a place and a say in the future of the Artifex community. Members have a voice on the board through the member trustee whom they elect, and they are also entitled to further protection as per the by-laws. Finally, members' contact information is registered in the Artifex.org database. If anything ever happened to the server or its connection to the internet (a fire at the office, an unplanned suspension of internet service), the board would be able to contact its members and plan how the community would overcome the setback.
